About Dr. Alpiner
As the President of the American Academy of Pediatric Life Care Planners (AAPedsLCP) and one of the nation’s few physicians triple board-certified in Pediatrics, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R), and Life Care Planning, Dr. Neal Alpiner offers unparalleled expertise to legal professionals, life care planners, and others navigating pediatric care and medico-legal matters.
A native of Detroit, Michigan, Dr. Alpiner earned his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Michigan and his Medical Degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine. He completed dual residencies in Pediatrics and PM&R at the Detroit Medical Center, earning the Lender F. Bender Award for exceptional accomplishment. Dr. Alpiner has been recognized with the Golden Tassel Award for Outstanding Attending Physician at Beaumont Hospital, the Patient’s Choice Award, and the Metropolitan Detroit “SuperDoc” honor, among others.
Dr. Alpiner’s extensive forensic and clinical background is matched by his dedication to improving patients’ quality of life through exercise, pain management, and therapeutic strategies. As a neuroscientist, he specializes in understanding how the brain and body adapt to stressors, developing treatments to restore motor, cognitive, and sensory function. He is also the author of The Parent Principle and The Lunchroom Jungle.

Taking care of your health
We treat patients with a wide variety of medical conditions affecting the brain and head including Concussions, spinal cord, nerves, bones, joints, ligaments, muscles, and tendons. Diagnosis and treatment focus on form and function
PM&R physicians are medical doctors who have completed training in the specialty of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R), and may be subspecialty certified in Brain Injury Medicine, Hospice and Palliative Medicine, Neuromuscular Medicine, Pain Medicine, Pediatric Rehabilitation Medicine, Spinal Cord Injury Medicine, and/or Sports Medicine.
We treat both Pediatric and Adult patients. No patient is ever too young or too old for evaluation and treatment. We are referred patients from hospitals, primary care/pediatric physicians, therapists and other specialist physicians. We always appreciate patient referrals.
We accept medical referrals from physicians, hospitals and health centers as well as patient referrals
